The familiar fanfare is there, in all of its swaggering-brass glory, though it seems a little less expansive in the actual depth of its instrumentation. The multi-themed 'Duel of the Fates', in particular, uses the complete dynamic range of the digital studio for an effective punch. Of course, 'new' is a relative term when it comes to film music; ' use of dramatic dissonance and discordance is somewhat innovative for the Star Wars series, as are the bravura choral passages, the score deliberately references the great film composers of the '30s and '40s. Just as intended his movie to reflect an earlier time in the life of his universe, music follows suit, with choral passages that bring to mind both and (insofar as the choral material brings to mind 's interpretation of the Carmina Burana).
This is not a VHS cop rip or anything of that nature. It is a later dvd or blu-ray copy. The aspect ratio has been changed fromtowith a vhs FBI warning attached to the start. You can tell it is not a VHS copy first because everything looks stretched and long because of the wrong aspect ratio. Second the VHS of The Phantom Menace did come in bothandletterbox formats but not in a stretched uncropped ratio.
Also Yoda on the VHS copys was a puppet not cgi as in this copy is. Yoda was changed to cgi later in the dvd to blu-ray releases because Lucas can never leave anything along and thinks more cgi the better even tho the move was a mass hit as is.
